Chhattisgarh Maoist attack: 22 soldiers were dead

On April 2, several teams of security forces launched an anti-Maoist operation in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur and Sukma districts. There were about 2000 security personnel in the teams of these security forces. These forces included CRPF, CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action), District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Special Task Force (STF) personnel.
The Maoist militants ambushed the security forces while a team of security forces moved through Tarrem, passing through the forest near Jonaguda. The attack was carried out by militants of the Maoist organization PLGA (Peoples' Liberation Guerilla Army). Many Maoists have been killed by militants in this encounter with the security forces, at present, full details of the killed militants have not been received yet.
